Golden Leaves Con is almost 100 percent "furry-run": Catering, logistics, registration, A/V tech - even all your meals are cooked by unpaid volunteer furries! So we rely on our community and always need more helping paws. Are you interested? These are our openings.

Cook for the Convention Kitchen

Do you have formal training as a cook or many years of experience working in restaurants, catering, or large-scale kitchens? Do you work in an organized and independent manner while maintaining oversight even when preparing larger quantities? Then we would be happy to hear from you.

Your responsibilities:

• Independent preparation and cooking of meals for the convention
• Cooking independently for larger groups of up to 300 people
• Organizing your own work area and supporting general kitchen operations
• Responsibility for quality, timing, and the smooth operation of the kitchen
• Working together with kitchen assistants and volunteers
• Ensuring cleanliness, order, and hygienic working practices in the kitchen area

What you bring:

• Completed training as a cook or comparable long-term experience in restaurants, catering, or large-scale kitchens
• Experience cooking for larger groups and handling the required quantities
• Confident handling of kitchen and commercial kitchen equipment
• Independent and structured way of working
• Ability to work under pressure, organizational skills, and a team-oriented mindset
• Willingness to take responsibility and contribute your time during the convention

Kitchen Staff or kitchen helper

You enjoy cooking or baking and would like to support the convention from a culinary perspective? Then we would be happy to hear from you.

Your tasks:

• Assisting with the preparation and cooking of food for the convention
• Helping with cooking and/or baking, depending on your strengths
• Supporting general kitchen workflows as well as keeping things clean and organized

What you bring:

• Enjoyment of cooking, baking, or working in a kitchen environment
• Confident handling of knives as well as kitchen and large-scale equipment
• Reliability, team spirit, and initiative
• Willingness to dedicate time during the convention
• Experience cooking for larger groups is desirable, but not required

Games Corner Helper

The Games Corner is looking for 1-2 new helpers!

Your tasks:

• Keep an eye on the Games Corner and its consoles and tech
• Welcome and motivate gamers, help run tournaments

What you bring:

• Enjoyment and knowledge of gaming and consoles
• Reliability, team spirit, and initiative
• Willingness to dedicate time during the convention (four to five hours a day)
• Basic technical abilities and own equipment are most welcome but not required

What we offer:

• A chance to contribute and bring in own ideas
• A friendly, motivated team in a relatively low-stress work environment

Everyone should volunteer in the Kitchen

This is not a staff position, but a reminder that we need a little help from all our attendees:

• Please spare a little of your convention time helping us clean the dishes after meals. You can either sign up for a shift (the list is set up before the con) or just hang around after your meal: The kitchen is open and we're always looking for helpers
• One shift is usually around 90 minutes
• Bring friends: The more helping paws, the faster you're out!
• Early risers: We are also always looking for breakfast helpers
